How long does shipping a hygrometer to Australia take?

All of our items usually take around 4 business days but we have had some items arrive in two days. We offer FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING and we make sure your order is safely and securely packaged in a neutral coloured, fully recyclable cardboard box.  The box consists of at least 60% recycled paper, which cushions any impact during transit (kind of like those egg experiments you did in high school - ours never cracked.)

Why use a hygrometer?

A hygrometer is an instrument used to detect the amount of moisture and humidity in the air. This can be useful if you live in a warm or humid climate, if you have a wine cellar or if you just dig knowing what is going on with the weather.

What should the humidity in my home be?

For a comfortable and healthy work or home environment, you want the temperature to be between 18 - 24 C and humidity between 35% - 65%.

High humidity and your home

The trouble is, when the humidity is too high you can end up with a damp and mouldy home, so you end up scrubbing mould spores off the wall, or throwing out belongings that have been ruined by humidity and mould, such as clothes or furniture.

Personally, I struggled with this issue after the Christchurch earthquakes, noticing cracks in the house which meant more moisture and a much colder home during winter.  This really affected the health of my grandson (you can read more about that here).

Low humidity

When the humidity is too low, your house can be dry which can cause dry nose, dry throat, dry skin and an increased risk of catching a cold.

Humidity and wine

Wine Cellar Hygrometer & Thermometer

The drinkability of your wine is affected by three things: light, humidity and temperature. If you are keeping wine for a special occasion, it is important to make sure you optimise these three elements.  That way, when it comes time to pop the cork, you have a beautiful glass of wine and you can savour every last drop... rather than being left with undrinkable vinegar scented grape juice. More on how to do this here:
